Peabody Press & Maya Corpus Permissions

The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology offers image materials published through the Peabody Museum Press and the Maya Corpus program by written request.

To request copies of figures or photographs that have been published through the Peabody Museum Press or the Maya Corpus program, please fill out the Image Request Form and submit it online or send it to the address at the bottom of the form.

An invoice will be mailed for each requested order via Paypal for all credit card purchases. If you cannot pay by credit card, please indicate that you need a paper invoice with your request. Prepayment is required; please see Fee Schedule below.

Upon receipt of payment, a Permission to Reproduce form will be sent with any ordered image, including those for research purposes only. Please sign and date this form and return to:

Please note reproduction rights for images are not granted until the permission form has been countersigned by PMAE staff and returned to the requestor.

All permissions to reproduce are given with the understanding that the requestor sends one copy of the publication to the Peabody Museum Imaging Services Department at the address above.

Please allow three to five weeks for processing.

The Peabody Museum reserves the right to limit the number of photographic copies; to restrict the use of reproduction of rare, valuable, or sensitive materials; to refuse permission for inappropriate use; and to charge different fees from one presented on this site.

The Peabody Museum does not grant exclusive rights and retains its rights to publish and/or grant permissions for others to do so.

Image Materials Fee Schedule

This fee schedule covers reproduction costs only for figures or photographs in Peabody Museum Press and Maya Corpus Program publications. Fees are subject to change at any time.

** New Photography Fees include:

• Set-up time for photography of requested three-dimensional objects.
• Retrieval of an object from storage or installation and conservation treatment, if necessary.

Permission-to-Reproduce Fees

Charges for reproduction in an exhibit catalogue, book, or chapter in a book with a print run of 1,000 copies or more will apply as follows:

There will be no charge for reproduction of image materials in a thesis, dissertation, journal article, or museum exhibition.
