In-Person Youth Program, ages 13-18

How do archaeologists learn about the animals that ancient humans hunted, herded, and even shared their homes with? In this workshop, Jack Bishop, a PhD student in Archaeology, will help teens investigate one of the most common types of artifacts found at archaeological sites: animal bones.
Participants will examine real specimens and explore what animal bones can tell us about changing environments, diets, and the long-term relationships between humans and other species.
Teen Saturdays Workshops are offered bilingually in Spanish and English. They are designed to build community and improve the museum experience for multicultural teens. Snacks provided!
The $10 fee includes free admission to all HMSC museums immediately following the workshop.
Teens will receive a free admission pass (worth $15) for a return visit if they attend one of the three sessions.
