Ceramic Type Collections Project

The Peabody Museum’s ceramic collections represent important sites from throughout Mesoamerica. Many were collected during projects in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and provide comparative samples for sites or regions where similar types of pottery may be found, as well as contribute to new research. The ongoing Mesoamerican Lab Ceramic Type Collections Project, led by Dr. Jennifer Carballo, continues to document, identify, and reorganize collections housed in the Mesoamerican Lab, and to enhance knowledge about the collections through academic background research.
