Free In-Person Event
Join us for a free night at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology.
Come for a night of fun, after-hours activities in the galleries.
- Discover powerful Native American ledger art in the Peabody collections with Gavin Zempel, enrolled citizen of the Lower Sioux Indian Community, Bdewakantunwan Dakota, and Harvard American Studies graduate student. Zempel will give two short gallery presentations at 6:00 and 7:00 pm on how ledger art asserts Native presence, memory, and self-representation.
- See Castaway: The Afterlife of Plastic, before it closes April 5—a striking mix of photography and beach debris that confronts our deep entanglement with plastic.
- Explore award-winning middle and high school student art from the global Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest, spotlighting plastic pollution and climate change.
- Join Harvard student-led highlight tours of the Peabody Museum from 5:30–8:30 pm.
- Sip on a selection of beverages for purchase (21+ with valid government ID for alcohol).
- Enter a free raffle for museum gifts and a museum membership.
- Visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History, also open 5:00–9:00 pm (access on the third floor of the Peabody Museum).
Free and open to the public. Let us know you are coming! RSVPs are encouraged, but walk-in visitors are always welcome. Free event parking at the 52 Oxford Street Garage, 4:30–9:30 pm.
